Alex paced back and forth in his house the tiring boredom getting to him. It had been almost two weeks since the court sentenced him to home arrest. So unfair what do they even need another X-box for. Alex sat down in one of the chairs around his large kitchen table the ankle band chafing up against his leg. Grunting he pulled a coin out of his pocket and spun it on the table watching the silvery surface twirl until eventually falling down. Getting up he snatched the coin off the hard wood surface and walked toward the large picture frame window that brightened his entire living room. Standing there he looked outside hoping something exciting would happen.

Rachel had been let out on one day of freedom by the company. And she was hoping that she could make an escape. There was no possible way that she wanted to remain a test subject to them.
Rachel had managed to shake off two of the guards that had been assigned to watch her, but she knew that there would be two others somewhere around. She had just run around the corner of the building when she was caught. "Hey", she screamed when the biggest man slung her over his shoulder. "Put me down... you big oaf".

"Woah...." Alex watched with a slack jaw at the scene that was unfolding in front of him. Reaching for a phone he quickly dialed 911 and listened to the voice on the other end. "Umm hello this is Alex Delrus and... No I didn't do anything wrong would I call if.... No its... Will you lis!.. Getting frustrated he slammed the phone down and looked out the window. Thinking it over for a moment he decided to do the stupidest thing he could think of, help. Rushing toward his door he slung it open and to a step outside only to hear a loud ringing noise from the ankle band. Ignoring the noise he ran down the stairs and opened the two large glass doors running toward the men. "Hey what are you doing!" Little did Alex know he was getting in way over his head.

One of the men looked at Alex and smirked. "None of your business kid", he said before turning his attention back to Rachel and her captor. "Lets go".
Rachel looked at Alex pleadingly... but she didn't want someone else getting hurt because of her. She began to struggle again before she noticed the single tear that fell from her eye and dropped onto the ground. She held her breath and looked up.... waiting for that moment. Then as it always did when she cried... it rained.
Rachel slipped from the mans hold and kicked him in the back. Then she started to run....

Rachel's captors ran after her and grabbed her around the waist. Lifting her up off the ground. "Put me down you creeps", she screamed before she noticed the police officer. "HELP". She struggled violently, playing the part of a girl in distress.... well she was.... partly. She did know how to fight... she just didn't like to. "Help me..... please".

The police officer left Alex laying cuffed on the ground and rushed toward the two men as fast as he could, leaving Alex unattended. Alex struggled for a few moments trying as hard as he could to get the cuffs off when he found one of his hands freed somehow. Pulling his hand forward to his face he screamed to find his hand nothing more than a smoking outline of what it once was, after a few moments he fell to the side and fainted.
The police officer meanwhile charged toward the three shouting.

Rachel's captors dropped her and ran off within seconds of the police officer shouting. Rachel stood up and brushed herself off. Then she walked off past the officer. "Thanks" she said as she passed him and walked towards Alex. She noticed that he was passed out... and she also noticed the ankle bracelet.
Rachel sighed and grabbed his arm, pulling him back inside the building. Then she walked outside and sat down, rubbing the bruises on her wrists and arms.

Alex sat up slowly and grunted his head was killing him. Looking around he found himself sitting in front of the main entrance of the large building where he stayed. Starring out the window he looked for the woman and two men to no avail. "Great I hit my head and passed out." He sighed and stood up cracking his neck and walking slowly toward his apartment room.

Rachel heard a noise and looked behind her, inside the building. He must be awake... she thought as she stood up. Then she heard him say something. "You're lucky thats all you hit" she laughed standing in the doorway. "You alright?"

Alex turned his and nearly fell down. "Dam don't scare me like that!" Looking at her he also realized that what had happened wasn't just a strange dream. His eyes growing wide he looked toward his hand that was just like it should be, normal. "Anyways thanks I guess an yeah I'm OK.

Alex yawned and shrugged at her comment. "Yeah mines Alex. So why were those men getting at ya?" Alex had been a little curious of what her answer would be and waited patently for her response. Looking out the window again he saw the police officer standing at the other edge of the street, picking up the handcuffs and talking into his radio. Seeming a little jumpy he walked over to Rachel grabbed her hand and started going up the stairs at a hurried pace. 'Dam why did I have to help her' Thinking to himself he continued up the stairs with Rachel in tow.

"They're from the company..." Rachel answered quietly. But she wasn't going to explain everything.... atleast not yet. Then Alex had walked forward and took her by the hand. "Whoa..." she managed as she was pulled up the stairs. "What on earth are you doing?
And maybe you helped because there's a chance that you care? a voice answered in his head. Rachel had the gift of telepathy.

Eventually reaching his floor he let go of her took a deep breath and stared pulling a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. "Sorry bout that just the police and all." He was completely ignoring the voice that rang throughout his head thinking that it was only part of his imagination. Picking out one of the cigarettes he stuck it in his mouth and proceeded to light it. "so I'm guessing you don’t have a place to stay, follow me." Slowly walking down the hall the trail of smoke drifting from his mouth he pulled out a key and unlocked his door.
